Mirror Scrying

You'll need the following to make your scrying mirror: transparent glass plate Matte black spray paint Additional paint (acrylic) for embellishment To prepare the mirror, you'll need to clean it first. Use any glass cleaner, or use vinegar combined with water for a more earth-friendly process. Flip it over until the glass is empty so that the back side is facing up. Using matte black spray paint to gently spray. Keep the can a couple of feet apart for the best outcome, then spray from side to side. If you keep the can too tight, the paint can pool, and this is not what you want. Add another coat as each coat dries. After five or six coats, the polish should be thick enough that if you bring the glass up to a torch, you can't see through the paint. Turn the glass right side up until the color has dried. You can add symbols of your tradition, mystic signs, or even your favorite saying, using your acrylic paint to add embellishments along the outside edge of the plate. The one in the picture says, "By the moonlit sea, the standing stone, and the twisted oak, I invoke you," but you can say whatever you want. Enable these, too to dry. Your mirror is ready for scrying, but you may want to consecrate it like you would any other magical object before using it. Using the shouting mirror— If you are usually expected by your practice to cast a circle, do so now. If you want to play some songs, get your cd player started. Go ahead if you want to light a candle or two, just make sure you position them so they don't mess with your line of vision. Sit in your workspace or stand easily. Start by shutting your eyes and attuning your mind to your surrounding energy. Take a little time to absorb the steam. Marianna Boncek, the author of Llewellyn, advises that you should not use music while... scrying. The explanation for this is that the visions and information you get will also be distorted by music. I consider using "white noise" such as a fan if you need to use some kind of sound to suppress noise. A fan can block background noise but will not compete with the visions or information you receive." Open your eyes as you are about to continue yelling. Place yourself in order to be able to look in the mirror. Stare into the bottle, look for shapes, signals, or photographs, and if you do, don't think about blinking, it's perfect. You can see things shifting, or even words emerging, perhaps. You will randomly have thoughts coming into your mind that seem to have nothing to do with anything at all. Maybe you'll dream unexpectedly about somebody you haven't seen in decades. Using your notebook to write down everything. It could be just a few minutes or even an hour to waste as much time as you want to stare into the mirror. Stop when you start feeling restless, or if mundane things are bothering you. When you're done looking into the mirror, make sure that during your scrying session you've documented everything you heard, though, and felt. Messages from other worlds frequently come to us and so we often do not know them for what they are. Don't panic, focus on it for a few days, and let your unconscious mind digest it if a piece of detail does not make sense. Chances are it will finally make sense. You might also be able to accept a message that is intended for someone else-if this does not appear to appeal to you, think of your family friends group, and about whom the message may be intended. ***Authors Note:
